Our Approach to Reve Enlighten Peel
The Reve Enlighten system utilizes a blend of active acids to create a controlled exfoliation of the outer layers of skin. As damaged skin sheds, newer, more evenly pigmented skin is revealed beneath.
Unlike superficial peels, this medium-depth treatment is structured as a system. Patients follow a pre-treatment skincare protocol, undergo two professional peel applications, and continue post-treatment care to maximize pigment correction.

Pre-Care
Please follow these pre-care guidelines before receiving Reve Enlighten Peel treatment.
Do not wear makeup to your appointment at our NYC Aesthetic Clinic.
Avoid shaving, waxing, or chemical hair removal for at least 48 hours prior to your chemical face peel appointment.
If you’re prone to cold sores, begin taking your medication at least 3 days prior to your appointment.
Post-Care
It is important to follow the correct after care instruction to make the most of your procedure. Here are our guidelines:
No working out for 24 hours after your chemical peel.
No makeup for 24 hours.
Remove the chemical peel at the time noted by your provider.
Avoid touching the treated areas for 24 hours unless you are cleansing and/or applying skincare.
Patients should expect to be red for 24 hours. The next day your skin will feel extremely dry and may present as darker. The skin will continue to dry up and darken. Around day 3 the skin will begin to peel off in a sheet. It is crucial to NOT pick at the peeling skin. It must be left alone or cut off with a scissor very carefully. The skin will continue to peel for a total of 7 days.
No exfoliating your skin physically or chemically for 2 weeks.
Daily sunscreen is mandatory for 2 weeks.

This varies depending on the chemical peel itself and the patient’s pain tolerance. The Reve Peel Fresh and Reve Peel Enlighten Plus are not particularly “spicy”. However, the Reve Peel Classic is a strong chemical peel that will address several skin conditions. This peel can be more intense for many. We utilize a medical grade cooling device to help with the initial stinging sensation. Once the peel has dried, the stinging sensation is very mild and tolerable. It will remain like this until it is washed off. Upon washing the peel off the skin will feel like you experienced a sunburn. Utilizing the post-care medical grade skincare provided will help soothe your skin and improve your results from the peel.
Patients will start peeling usually starting on the third day after the chemical peel treatment at our NYC MedSpa. It will take a full week for the patient to stop peeling (there may be some residual peeling one to two days after). Once the patient has stopped peeling they can fully appreciate their results, such as reduced acne scars, from the chemical peel.
Yes! The Reve Enlighten Peel facial chemical peels works beautifully to help manage melasma. Med spa patients must know however that melasma is a chronic issue that will consistently require maintenance treatments and a proper home skincare regimen. Patients need to be very conscious to always wear SPF 50+, and avoid heavy sun and heat exposure to slow down the return of their melasma.

The Reve Enlighten Peel is a full 6 week treatment kit. There’s two chemical peels included in the peel. After each peel there’s a week of downtime where patients will experience dry and flakey skin. The Reve Enlighten Peel kit contains all the post-care products the patient needs to recover from the chemical peel.
Yes! The Reve Enlighten Peel kit comes with the appropriate post-care moisturizers to optimize your results. But patients are also encouraged to utilize additional plain moisturizer to help replenish their skin’s hydration and improve the lipid barrier.
