Under Eye Filler

What Is Tear Trough Filler?

If you are searching for a solution for improving the look of the skin under your eyes, eye circle filler might be what you are looking for. Injectable fillers can be used to improve the appearance of skin under your eyes. This sensitive part of your skin is called the tear trough and can become indented or hollow over time.

Injections for dark circles are typically made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance already present in your body. By injecting this filler under the eyes, it fills out the hollowness and creates a smoother, younger-looking appearance, taking anywhere from a few days to about two weeks to fully settle.

The benefits of under eye filler are:

  • Improvement of hollowness under the eyes by restoring volume

  • Diminish the intensity of dark circles

  • Improved skin texture and hydration

  • Reduce indentations

Our Approach

By injecting a thin hyaluronic acid filler into the tear trough, volume is restored to the under eye area. Rather than affecting muscles (as Botox does), under-eye filler helps fill space. Under eye filler results can reduce hollowness, dark circles, and fine lines. Results slowly fade away over about 2 years.

Pre-Care | Post-Care

  • Consult with your medical provider if you are able to discontinue blood thinning medication such as Ibuprofen, Excedrin, Aspirin, Aleve, and Fish Oil 2 weeks prior to penis filler

  • Even though this is a non-surgical under eye filler procedure, please do not wear makeup to your appointment.

FAQs

Who is the ideal candidate for under eye filler?

Patients with a true under eye hollowing with no bulging of the fat pads or lingering under eye swelling are the ideal candidates for under eye filler.

What filler is used for under eye filler?

Belotero is our preferred filler for under the eyes. Being one of the thinnest fillers on the market, Belotero is the perfect filler to smooth out under eye hollowing without having to worry about the tyndall effect that some fillers can create under the eye.

What are the potential side effects of under eye filler?

Swelling and bruising are possible side effects of under eye filler. Bruising is usually minimal if at all, but swelling can be moderate and slowly fades away over 1-2 weeks. Some patients may experience swelling that lingers up to 4 weeks, so we always suggest planning ahead prior to any major events.

What is the difference between under eye filler and under eye botox?

Botox works to inhibit your muscles from contracting, resulting in a more relaxed look and a smoother, youthful appearance. Under Eye filler is injected to replenish volume loss and has nothing to do with muscle movement. Some patients may benefit from both treatments, other patients may just need one.

What should I do for the best aftercare?

It is recommended that immediately after the procedure you remain in an upright position and do not touch the skin under your eyes for at least three hours to help reduce the appearance of swelling. Avoid intensive exercise and makeup for the first 24 hours.

Can you treat sunken eyes or dark circles without under eye filler?

“Dark Circles” are usually a multifactorial issue. There is typically a volume deficiency that can be replenished with under eye filler. From a skin pigment perspective we can provide a lightening cream to help improve the color of the under eye. Finally, Botox placed superficially can help to make the under eye look more refreshed.
