Our intimate area bleaching and chemical peels help to suppress the action of melanocytes, thus lowering the amount of melanin produced (pigment). Melanocytes are the cells that make pigment throughout your body. We have the highest levels of these cells in the genital and anal regions. Pigmentation varies by person, but friction in the genital and anal area and other environmental and hormonal factors can increase pigmentation. By utilizing various peels and creams in intimate areas, we can customize your genital and anal lightening experience to deliver optimal results that you will love. In addition, we provide you with all the education and post-treatment care to know how to maintain your genital and anal bleaching results at home over time.
No waxing, shaving, or chemical hair removal (ex. Nair) for 2 days before or after receiving intimate area bleaching and chemical peels.
No open sores or lesions.
If you have a medical history of herpes infections then you must begin antivirals 3 days prior to the procedure and continue for 5 days post procedure.
No, the chemical peel used for intimate areas does not actually contain bleach and therefore does not interact with the hair it touches. Early on, genital and/or anal bleaching solutions had various harsh ingredients, like peroxide, which would lighten hair and cause irritation. Our formulas for anal and genital bleaching are safe, yet effective.
Yes, it’s possible to bleach your scrotum and penis. The skin on the penis doesn’t lift as easily as the skin around the anus and scrotum, but it does work. It’s important to have realistic expectations knowing this area isn’t going to lift 4-5 shades, but we’ve seen it lift 1-2 shades nicely and patients have been very satisfied.
Genital and/or anal chemical peels for bleaching are mostly for aesthetic purposes. However, if you’re doing laser hair removal in the anal or genital area where you also have darker pigmentation, we may recommend bleaching the intimate area to lighten the skin so the laser can be set at a higher setting to deliver optimal results.
The longevity of intimate bleaching varies. Patients who lift several shades (usually more than 3 shades) rarely return to their baseline darkness, but will gradually darken over the course of time. In patients who only lifted 1-2 shades, they may see themselves returning to baseline in one to two years.
Yes! At your scheduled appointment patients will receive the medical grade anal bleaching kit and have the entire protocol reviewed with Dr. Bustamante. The patient will also be given the written protocol to have on hand and then they will begin the anal bleaching process at home.
We recommend patients wait 5-7 days before engaging in sexual play (whether with a partner or a toy). This is because the intimate area after bleaching will be more sensitive and excessive friction can be irritating.
Our intimate area bleaching service costs $800 per area and includes 2 treatments.
Thus far all of our patients have been satisfied with the 2 treatments of intimate area bleaching included in the $800 package. If a patient wants to possibly go lighter, we can assess to determine the next best steps.
The two intimate bleaching sessions are 2-3 weeks apart.
There are various products on the market that are sold directly to consumers that help to lighten intimate areas. We have done a full market review to try the most popular products out there and found no success with them. The bleaching protocol we use in our office includes a prescribed pre and post-treatment cream and a medical-grade peel for optimal results.
While our chemical peel for intimate areas has consistently provided great results, we do find that a great portion of the result varies on the patient. Being consistent with the pre and post-treatment regimen is crucial to receiving optimal results. Some patients with extensive hyperpigmentation may see substantial results, while others with minimal hyperpigmentation may only see 1-2 shades lifted.

Yes! Continuing your post-treatment as prescribed is important to maintain results. We also highly recommend laser hair removal, as the friction from shaving, waxing, etc… can darken skin.
Yes! We see many female patients (and trans men) for vaginal bleaching. The peel can be applied anywhere externally in the vaginal region to brighten up the skin and give you a more even toned look. Our patients have loved combining this with anal bleaching for a complete refresh to their intimate parts. The process is similar across the board in terms of recovery, it’s fairly easy and the most only side effect patients mention is dryness with some mild itching. This is easily relieved with over the counter cortisone cream and moisturizing.
