FAQs

Do Laser Body and Butt Resurfacing treatments help with acne scars?

Laser resurfacing treatments for body and butt acne scars work by utilizing both an ablative and non-ablative dual laser. The Alma Hybrid Laser utilizes 2 wavelengths, a 1570 nm wavelength non-ablative erbium laser and a CO2 10600 nm ablative wavelength.

Ablative means the skin is being resurfaced by causing thermal injury to the upper layers.

Non-ablative means that the laser is not resurfacing the top layer of the skin but is delivering energy through the skin to induce collagen and elastin production to improve skin quality.

The combination of both wavelengths is fantastic for treating body and butt acne scars and improving skin texture.

How does body and butt laser resurfacing compare to IPL or BBL?

BBL, which stands for Broadband Light Therapy, is essentially the newest version of IPL, which stands for Intense Pulsed Light Therapy. Laser Body and Butt Resurfacing treatments are far superior to IPL and BBL. The Alma Hybrid can remove sun spots, and improve body acne scars and pigmentation issues both more quickly and more effectively than an IPL device.

Do laser procedures treat sun spots and sun damage on the body and butt?

Yes! The Alma Hybrid is the premier choice for removing unwanted pigmentation on the body and butt sun exposure, aging, scars, and more with full-body laser treatment!

How many Laser Body and Butt Resurfacing treatments do I need?

This varies from person to person. Oftentimes patients will start with body laser resurfacing and then fine-tune any residual small concerns with Microneedling + Exosomes treatments.

What is the CO2 laser for body and butt recovery period?

Most patients should expect the treated area to be dry and flakey for about 2 weeks. Patients must be cautious to avoid sun exposure in the treated body area during this time. After 2 weeks patients can resume exfoliating and can be in the sun with proper SPF protection. Proper moisturizing and post-care are critical for optimal results after your body laser resurfacing treatment.

How does this compare to HALO laser treatment for body laser resurfacing?

The Alma Hybrid is far superior to the HALO laser treatment. It’s unique 1570 nm wavelength and CO2 laser combination allows for full customization of your treatment. In addition, the 1570 nm is unique to the Alma Hybrid Laser. It’s the best wavelength to stimulate elastin, which is a key component in making skin appear youthful during your full-body CO2 laser rejuvenation.

Can Laser Body and Butt Resurfacing be done in the Summer?

Yes. As long as patients can avoid exposing the treated area to the sun for 2 weeks and then be sure to apply SPF 50+ daily for the duration of time discussed with them then they can receive a body laser peel treatment. But if avoiding the sun is going to be a challenge with the patient's lifestyle, then they should wait for the cooler months.

Can Laser Body and Butt Resurfacing be done on darker skin tones?

Laser Body and Butt Resurfacing can be done on patients up to a Fitzpatrick Skin Type 5 with proper pre and post-care treatment. Patients with deeper skin are best treated with body and butt chemical peels and body and butt Microneedling + Exosomes. Our expert staff will help you choose which men's med spa services are best for you.

Why do you utilize exosomes instead of PRP or PRF after laser resurfacing?

We utilize exosomes with every laser resurfacing treatment. Exosomes yield higher amounts of growth factors and peptides than those found in PRP or PRF. Because PRP and PRF are derived from your blood, you’re limited based on what your body can produce.

With BENEV Exosomes powered by ExoSCRT™, we see these exosomes promoting skin cell proliferation by up to 80% in a dose-dependent manner. This far exceeds the capability of PRP or PRF when aiding the recovery from laser resurfacing and helps to induce more collagen and elastin, it further aids with pigmentation issues.

Exosomes are responsible for cell-to-cell communication and for facilitating the exchange of RNA and other important proteins between cells (e.g. fibroblasts, keratinocytes, immune cells, etc.), in addition to transferring numerous growth factors and cytokines that have shown signs of tissue repair and improving skin cells.
