Nasolabial Fold Filler

Treatment for Nasolabial Folds | Benefits

The nasolabial folds, better known as “smile lines” can be easily addressed with filler. These folds can deepen over time with age and loss of support from the mid-face. Assessment of this area is critical to creating optimal results with the help of filler for smile lines. Benefits of filler for nasolabial lines include:

  • Skin appears softer and smoother

  • Immediate results

  • Increased healthy collagen on the surface of the skin

  • A nasolabial fold filler may make the face more symmetrical

Patients should be aware that it is not possible to completely eliminate smile lines, and there will always be some degree of fold present after the application of nasolabial fold fillers, as this is a normal anatomical presentation.

What is the Safest Filler Technique for Nasolabial Lines?

At Lushful Aesthetics we address nasolabial folds utilizing filler with the fern technique. This technique is designed to inject filler very superficially into the dermis to strengthen the tissue and prevent filler migration. Research has shown that filler injected too deep in this region leads to more migration due to the degree of dynamic movement in the perioral region. By injecting superficially we are able to airbrush these lines for a softer look without worrying about filler migration after our treatment for nasolabial folds.

FAQs

How long does nasolabial and perioral filler last?

The perioral area and nasolabial folds are areas of intense dynamic movement. Therefore filler for smile lines will not last as long in these areas compared to the cheeks, chin, and jawline. Patients should expect to touch up these areas every year. But we always assess patients prior to refilling, as we never want to overfill.

Can nasolabial and perioral filler be dissolved?

Yes. Because we only utilize hyaluronic acid-based fillers in the nasolabial and perioral areas, our filler for nasolabial lines can be completely dissolved.

How long does it take for jaw filler to settle?

Typically, jawline fillers take at least 2 weeks to settle. However, some patients may have residual swelling and should expect to wait at least 4 weeks to appreciate the final result.

Do you need surgery to get rid of laugh lines?

Patients with excessive skin laxicity and deep nasiolabial folds are likely candidates for a facelift to address all their concerns.

Should I massage nasolabial filler after treatment?

Patients can gently massage their nasolabial fold filler 24 hours after injection to reduce swelling and improve healing. But it’s not a necessity. Patients should NOT massage their filler earlier then 24 hours, as we do not want to contaminate the area post-injection.

Do nasolabial fold fillers hurt?

Numbing is applied prior to nasolabial fold filler to make the procedure comfortable. Patients typically report minimal discomfort.
